What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
It was fun creating an avatar with Meez. Library Thing is a great tool.
I enjoyed adding various feeds and having the convenience of looking at one site for information.
How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
It supports my goal of learning new technology in order to better serve my patrons, co-workers and family.
Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
My biggest surprise was the shear vastness of tech tools available that serve as a bridge between people and ideas.
What ideas do you have for using these technologies at Harris County Public Library?
Library Thing could be a useful tool in readers advisory. We can reach patrons in various ways: blogs, social networks, library thing ...
What else do you want to learn about? What other web 2.0 applications are you interested in?
I am interested in learning any applications that will assist me in serving our patrons.

Week 9, # 20 You Tube
I enjoy the individual work of these musicians, but it is a treat when two distinct talents work together.

I also enjoyed the Seneca Library song. It shows how a library team can work together creatively in promoting the library.

Week 8 #19
On Zoho, I created a document using sheet and entered info into the planner. I found that it's very similar to Excel, but without as many features. I have also tried open office, in the past. I will probably stick to using Excel on a regular basis, but am glad I am aware of Zoho and its versatility.

I took a quick look at each of the networking sites. I enjoyed looking at Dogster, Catster and Rate my Space. I prefer to use Facebook over the other social sites.

Week 7 #17 Technology
I feel fortunate to be a librarian during this time of rapid technological change. I can vividly remember working before the advent of personal computers, cell phones, etc...
After learning so many exciting tools, I am excited to share with our patrons.

Week 7 #16 Wiki
I like the collaborative nature of sharing information. Libraries can utilize this type of brainstorming to better serve our patrons: reader's advisory, programming, instruction,...
I would balance the information I gained from wiki's with other resources.

Week 6 # 15
Library 2.0
I enjoyed the article to a temporary place in time...by Dr. Wendy Schultz. She raised valid points about the evolution of the library. It's great to be thought of as a librarian "superstar" collected by patrons. I especially like the participatory aspect of the library. Library 4.0 is where I want to be!

Week 6 # 14 Technorati
In Technorati's advanced search, I found 668 posts using the term learning 2.0 in the blog search. I thought the Mango Languages-Learning to Speak Foreign Languages for free sounds like a great opportunity. In the Blog directory, I looked at the Hey Jude and Bud the Teacher posts. How do they rank the order of appearance? I noticed that on the 1st page, it seemed that there were more fans then on following pages.
I also looked on youtube at the a Vision of Students Today clip. I thought it was interesting how students held up handwritten notes on what they thought about learning. It was created by Michael Wesch in collaboration with 200 students at Kansas State University.

Week 6 #13 Tagging
I checked the comments and tags for Planet M&Ms and WeeWorld. Both were saved by over 300 people. The word fun is a tag word for both. It is helpful to see what tags other people use.

I used the bloglines search and added my home town newspaper feed. With Technorati I added a gardening feed and with Feedster I added a sewing feed.
Week 5 # 11 Library Thing
I enjoyed adding a selection of books that I own and would recommend. I added the titles to my blog's sidebar and will continue to add titles from my library. This is a great!
